A light magician who balances the art of making images true to life and yet “better than reality”–their words not mine
I’ve been telling stories since before I knew how to write. At 16 I got my first camera while working toward a career as a tiger trainer (seriously).
When my husband gave me my first “big camera,” I used it to capture our lives in Europe, then family and friends at home.
Little did I know it would lead me to photographing strangers’ families, national campaigns, sunrise portraits on a California beach, and more.
I had no idea God was going to lead me down this path, but I’m so glad He did.
I was photographing portraits but stayed away from weddings because we did not a hire a professional wedding photography for our own wedding—big mistake. It took me years to look at our wedding photos without being disappointed.
But then in 2017, a college friend was getting married but they weren’t planning to have a photographer—I wasn’t about to let that happen. I gave my husband Colton a week’s crash course in shooting before we photographed our first full wedding day. We had a blast. Immediately after photographing my first exit I declared it my favorite thing—we were officially wedding photographers
