Going into Alli and Tyler’s wedding, I was almost stressing myself about this wedding because I was not stressed about it.
I was fully prepared with all my notes just like I am for every wedding; but this was an Aggie wedding, with a bride who has been a bridesmaid in not one but TWO weddings I have photographed–three of her bridesmaids have now been in weddings I photographed multiple times. I knew this wedding was gonna be a good fun time. So apparently Texas thought it needed to give me something to be concerned about and decided to play “will they/won’t they” with the weather–and none of my apps could find consensus on what we would experience on Saturday.
Thankfully, the rain dissipated early in the morn, the clouds dispersed, and the highs stayed in the 80s (something to be thankful in Texas even when most of the wedding is indoors). It was so fun seeing so many familiar faces, and the bride and groom were just as I expected.
Alli and Tyler were relaxed but excited–although right before their first look Tyler was having some “allergies” and had to wipe his eyes a few times. We rolled through wedding party portraits, even getting to create some more creative arrangements, and got everyone inside for the ceremony in the chapel.
All the vendors did such a great job. Emma, and the rest of the Boxwood team were so helpful and made sure we were well cared for. Quentin from QV Weddings was great to work with, and I loved the unique flowers in all of the arrangements.
Guests enjoyed delicious appetizers on the patio before heading in the reception hall for some tacos and salsa. Right as the light got glowy, I stole Alli and Tyler for a few portraits outside. Then it was time to party! The dance floor never emptied and you could tell everyone was ready for a good time. But eventually, the dance floor did have to clear and our newlyweds left the Laurel as husband and wife, under a classic Aggie tradition: the 12h man towel.
