Jamie and Kendall’s Colorful Wildflower Wedding // Stonebridge Wedding Venue, Blum Tx

I was looking forward to Jamie and Kendall’s wedding for one, they’re a beautiful couple who are so relaxed and easy to photograph–they tried to claim at their engagement session they’re not photogenic but that was quickly proven untrue with how easy they worked the camera; but I was also eager for the day because I knew visually it was going to be lovely–colorful floral arrangements inspired by wildflowers, ceremony under a  200 year old oak tree, portraits overlooking the river.

A June wedding in Texas, I also knew it was going to be hot and I would have to work really efficiently to keep everyone comfortable while still delivering amazing photographs. So I was relieved when we arrived at Stonebridge Venue in Blum, Texas, and felt a steady breeze cutting through the heat.

A pleasant surprise waited for me in the bridal cottage, a sweet pup named Bolt was the ring ‘bearer” for the day, plus the sweetest little flower girl. Hanging up in a side room was Jamie’s bridal gown–a beautifully detailed work with sparkling details and lace, with my favorite feature being the detachable tulle train with bow.

Underneath the oak tree, she shared a sweet first look with her step dad–both trying to hold the tears at bay–before hiding her away for the ceremony. The ceremony under the accent oak was stunning–the colors popped from the bridesmaids’ flowers and were complimented nicely by the groomsmen’s khaki suits.

For cocktail hour, guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers in another tree shaded patio before entering the ‘Tuxedo Hall” reception space, where everyone enjoyed delicious food from D-Sqared Catering. Then when golden hour neared, we made a trek via golf cart and gator to the river for some dramatic bride and groom portraits. Happy to report no one fell off the rocks or into the river–but that doesn’t mean I didn’t consider getting in the water!

Once the sun dipped below the horizon, it was back to the reception to rock the dance floor until it was time to light the sparklers and send the newlyweds off!

Just the wedding party being a renaissance painting
