Megan & Matt’s Colorful and Personal Wedding // Sparrow Creek Ranch, Graham Texas

Megan and Matt’s wedding was a day that just kept getting better and better. I’m not sure how many times a moment happened and I thought to myself, “this is the highlight for me,” just for something else to occur that made me think, no, “this is the highlight.”

Was it drastically different from most Texas weddings? From the outside, probably not; but as someone who has seen a lot of Texan weddings, I can tell you there were a lot of subtle decisions that Megan and Matt made that created a truly special day for themselves and their family and friends.

First, let’s start with the fact that they have surrounded themselves with a truly great group of people who could not have been more thrilled to celebrate with them. The Bride Team picked up the future Mrs. Serpa rocking pig onesies (because Megan loves pigs–and that is a very important detail for you to understand moving forward). When I met the groomsmen, the level of pep in their voices literally stopped me and I needed a moment to gather myself to respond.

The venue was stunning–not surprised, Sparrow Creek Ranch is a favorite of mine, but I hadn’t been there since they enclosed the barn and it’s now extra vibey in the best way. The flowers were beautiful with their rich tones–I’ve got a new favorite flower photo from this wedding and then some.

This day flowed so well, by reception time, I was in love with the timeline we had created. They opted for a First Look, which means we got all wedding party portraits done before the ceremony, including ones with the special ring bearer and flower girl. After the ceremony, we quickly captured family portraits before rolling right into their sunset portraits–the light could not have been better. Then they got to enjoy cocktail hour and the reception with all their guests.

And what a cocktail hour! I love the patio at SCR for cocktail hour. When guests arrived at the ceremony, Beckoning Events was already on hand to serve them some pre-ceremony refreshments. After the ceremony, they got to partake of some delicious appetizers thanks to Confetti Affairs, who also provided the dinner and desserts. Y’all, these are some of the prettiest food tables I have ever seen in my life.

They entered into the reception with a rally towel welcome, straight into a table dash–which they absolutely knocked out of the park. Their multi-talented officiant sang some Elvis Presley while the new couple cut their cake. Guests enjoyed all kinds of delights from the dessert table in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. Then it was party time with late night pizza (late night snacks are always a good choice).

Another great alternative they chose? Instead of a typical send off, Megan and Matt opted to celebrate with a champagne spray before heading back in to dance into the late night hours.

And yes, there was a pig at the wedding.

How sweet is Matt? He was tearing up even before we had Megan positioned for the First Look–these two are so happy to be married!

See that flower photo on the right? Probably gonna have to print that for my office.

The amount of restraint I am exercising by only sharing two photos of this dessert table. I may just have to have a “favorite food photos” blog post one day.
