Hello dearies!
It’s almost Halloween so seems about time to finally share this dark western wedding styled shoot! This shoot was organized by Lauren Hummert Photography, which she titled “Unforgiven”. It features a unique gown, fun two-sided wedding cake, and a few surprises, like the prettiest mustang I’ve ever seen.
This was the first styled shoot I’ve ever attended that I was not the host, which was part of the reason I wanted to go. I’ll be co-hosting a styled shoot for The Friendorship Retreat and wanted to gain experience from the perspective of other photographers.
Another reason I wanted to do this shoot was because I knew it would be a challenge. Dark, Halloween-themed shoots are not something that naturally comes to mind for bright and vibrant photography styles like mine, which is why I wanted to see how these would work.
The flowers for this shoot were amazing and I could not have had more fun capturing the different textures threaded throughout the details.
Can you tell I enjoyed capturing this tablescape?
Ok, now normally this would be the “credits roll” part of the blog, list off the amazing vendors, but got a bonus for you guys. ‘Cause I had a bit of a secret in this blog.
Both the models had skull faces.
Now you might be wondering why I concealed that throughout this blog post. I still captured a plethora of portraits featuring the superb work from the makeup artist, and some of those portraits are my favorites from this shoot; however, I wanted to give myself the extra challenge of capturing images that could give the feel of usual wedding.
So enjoy these extras to get the “full” picture. Plus some horse shenanigans of course.

This is such a unique concept. That last picture of the horse is awesome!
